Player Experience: 1990 - 2003 As a player James Beeks has amassed an overall impressive personal player resume with 13 years playing experience while racking up numerous awards over the years. The speed, excitement, conduct, and his never say die attitude earned him 8 All-Star appearances, 4MVP awards, and two trips to a national championship game (1994/1997) with one National Championship Ring with the Greenwood Panthers in 1997. His only regret about his career is that with all the teams he ever played with he was only able to win one championship Ring. Beeks said with all the talented teams he was a part of , " we should have won more than one ring and had a bigger presence in the community".

EVOLUTION of the GREENVILLE GREYHOUNDS
Personal Acknowledgement: I would like to take this opportunity to thank God for the many blessings that I have received. My family for the many life lessons and help with my business, by volunteering their time. The handful of volunteers that give so much of their precious time to contribute to the operation and success of the team. Finally I would like to thank all the sponsors, business association, and the many fans that support the Greenville Greyhounds organization.
In 2002 I was approached and encouraged by several players to start another Semi-Pro football team. After differences with the Reddawgs for a second year amongst coaching turmoil and a less than professional experience with the Greenville Jaguars in 2003, I along with several players from both teams formed the Greenville Gators. Shortly after our first board of trustees meeting we changed the name to the Greenville Greyhounds Minor League Football Team. My concept of what a successful Minor League Football Team should be was based on the model of the more successful National Football League Teams (NFL).The Greenville Greyhounds would set itself apart from other teams in the area by patterning it's operation after the NFL franchises, in that we would conduct ourselves professionally, look professional, put a competitive team on the field, do our part in the community, get out and promote the team in special events, and activities. Finally we wanted to bring a franchise to the Upstate community that would provide fun, wholesome family entertainment in a safe friendly environment at an affordable price.
