2006 SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE

After 3 years of play the Greyhounds made a pit stop in mid-season. Admist
controversy and turmoil several factors contributed to the decision of the
Greyhounds owner to shut down operations for the 2006 season. Some
people took the decision as an opportunity to beef up their support by saying
the Greyhounds folded and would not return. Beeks said just like they always
do these people put out information that they can't substantiate or have the
true knowledge to make an informed statement; not returning was never the
situation. My decision was one of a strategic measure that would allow the
Greyhounds to position the organization in a situation to regroup and
comeback bigger and better than before. The other teams used the
Greyhounds business plan and accomplishments as a stepping stone to
benefit their organization in one way or another and took every shot to shoot
the Greyhounds down and never acknowledging what we done for them. It
became a comparison of this team is better than that team, players jumping
teams, and a decline in performance were the extenuating circumstances that
guided me. " I tried to maintain the team and finish the season, but the effort
was hopeless." In an attempt to save the integrity of the Greyhounds name,
Beeks called it a season.

So be it that the demise of the Greyhounds 2006 season became prevalent.
Coach Beeks said that he has embarked on the 2007 football season with a
relentless vengeance that will further set the Greyhounds above and beyond
any other team in the upstate. Coach Beeks is looking forward to the
upcoming season and anticipates another year of great fan participation.
