GREYHOUNDS MAKES MOVE FOR TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES
STAFF WRITER 12/11/08
2009 season. While the secondary market of
AF2 announced that it would continue
operations as usual. Tough economic down
turns will affect many minor league teams as well, with this
threat in the foresights of the Greenville Greyhounds operations focus the Greyhounds have decided to
search out new ideas to help the Greyhounds football operations be a success in 2009.  The first and
major step in budget cuts for the Greyhounds are cutting down on travel distance and travel cost. The
Greyhounds have resigned from the NAFL2 and are seeking a new home for the upcoming football
season. According to the office officials the Greyhounds will experience the most success the
organization has ever experienced in it's 5 year history.  More players returning and more finding an
interest in the Greyhounds are all indications that the Greyhounds are going to score big this season.
Officials for the Greyhounds say that they are seeking membership into the Southeastern American
Football League (SEAFL). Joining the SEAFL will provide more local competition between teams that
are more regional such, as Anderson Reddawgs, Spartanburg Vikings , and teams from Columbia and
other surrounding areas. Hopefully the local rivalry between regional teams should bring more fans back
to the Greenville Greyhounds fan base.
