Tonight the Greyhounds lost for the second
consecutive time at home at Greer City Stadium.
Like thieves in the night the Upstate Vikings
looted and vandalized the Greyhounds home
field, and after it was all over the Greyhounds
were left only a loss and questions. The team
that once was being looked at as the team to be
reckoned with are now being talked about as if
they were all hype. With a loss to another regional rivalry team drops the
Greyhounds record to 1 win and 2 losses and third place position in the division.
The Vikings improved their record to 3-0 and took a commanding lead in the
division.

The stage had been set for the Greyhounds to redeem themselves a position in
which they have often found themselves in. At the start the goal was to go out and
make the division a three way tie for first place but as the Greyhounds did in the
previous game the team quickly became unraveled by a quick turnover. The
Vikings turned the interception into a touchdown early in the game and followed
that up with a special teams score and set themselves up for a third score in the
half. What had appeared to be the Greyhounds demise in previous game was not
going to be the teams Achilles heel this game as Quarterback Chevious Kelley
connected with Dallas Mack for a 60 yard pass for the Greyhounds first score.
That made the score 22 to 8 after the Greyhounds added a 2 point conversion.
The excitement went through the roof as the Greyhounds had scored the first
official touchdown of the season and before halftime had put themselves right
back in the game by adding another score to make the game even closer. At the
half the Vikings lead had been cut 7; the Vikings 22 and the Greyhounds had 14.

Carrying the momentum into the second half the Greyhounds ship was wiped as
the Vikings took the second half opening kickoff 74 yards into the end zone for a
quick score and staked claim to the field as conquered territory. That touchdown
lead to a barrage of scores as the game got out of reach for the Greyhounds.
Once again the Greyhounds closed out a game with a badly broken spirit and a
another loss to the record.  Now the Greyhounds must carry this loss on the road
to Charleston and play the Port City Snipers a team that is 0-3 itself but has yet to
play in front of a home crowd. This will be a game that can get the Greyhounds
back in the race or give the team a dismal outlook for the rest of the season.
